Assignment:
Ivano-Frankivsk regional television Galychyna is one of the leading means of mass media in Prykarpattia. Experienced journalists, video operators, producers, video designers, sound engineers work in the TV studio.

“Visti” is the main information program of the channel and it highlights the most important events of Prykarpattia. “Visti” is broadcasted several times a day and is constantly updated.

The preparation process of news releases is quite complicated, it’s very toilful and requires participation of both journalists, operators and also
editors, sound engineers, narrators and other workers of the channel. Authenticity and quality of information covering depend on the effectiveness of their work. Electronic information system Visti was developed and implemented specifically for organisation and support of their work. And another goal was to avoid piling of papers that goes with news release preparation.

At the beginning of the project the main task was to add information about news coverage and organize it in a desired order for broadcasting.
But further work proved the possibility of improvement.

The final version of the system includes functions of adding information about news release, news story description so that editors can edit and vise it, function of text preparation for a prompter, function of time management with the opportunity to form the final list of covered material, function of outputting text for the chief editor and prompter, text for the archive and many other additional functions.

Personalized access makes it possible to show each worker only information he/she needs. Everybody performs only that part of work he/she is responsible for.
And what is more important – editor or chief editor can observe the preparation process of each story or news release in general at any stage (or even in real time).

The system is accessible for each process participant right from the working place. There’s no more tens of intermediate versions of releases or texts of stories. It’s important that making necessary corrections and specifications is very easy.

Without any doubt “Visti” system saves time of creative people and it helps the channel to function more effectively.

The system has been successfully used since autumn 2007.
